Certificate Revocation List (CRL)

The Certificate Revocation terminates its operational period before the end of validity period. A digital certificate will be revoked if it has been lost, thefted, modified, disclosed without any authorization, or generally if it is compromised with its private key association.

Users can verify a certificate's validity status as CA publishes certificate revocation lists (CRL) on a regular basis. These lists contain the serial numbers of all revoked and not yet expired certificates.

Revoke a Certificate

Please be sure to revoke your certificate under any of the following conditions;

  • Your private key has been lost or stolen
  • The password that protects your private key has been compromised
  • The contents of the certificate are no longer valid (for example, your company has changed its name)
  • The certificate is being misused

Note: Once revoked, your certificate will appear on our Certificate Revocation List (CRL). Users can check the CRL to determine if your Entrust Web server certificate is still trusted.

Note: You can not decrypt messages which are encrypted by the revoked certificate. Be sure not to cancel the old private key for those old messages that still where encrypted by that specific certificate.

Retrieve the Private Key

The operating system saves the private keys in a special location of your system. For any evenience like losing your private key caused by file delection or operating system change, you can retrieve its copy from us.

Note: CA will deliver the private key only to its owner.

Note: During the retrieve request you will be prompted with the data you registered during the enrollment process.

Search for Digital Certificates

To encrypt your message you need to have a copy of the digital certificate of the destination recipient. An easy way to obtain somebody's digital certificate is to ask him to send you a digitally signed e-mail.

A second option is to search the ParsSign database of digital certificates and download the certificate you want. If you wish to search for a digital certificate click here
